COMMITTED ORGANIZATIONS

Estrie - Sherbrooke

It is with joy that we present to you today a first committed environment of the new version of interforums which will take place from fall 2024: The Federation of Housing Cooperatives of Estrie !

"The Estrie Housing Cooperatives Federation has mutual aid and cooperation tattooed on its heart. The idea of becoming an engaged environment for interforums dedicated to seniors seemed to us to be a unique opportunity to transcend our values.

The process will allow seniors from different backgrounds in Estrie to collaborate in identifying the issues they are experiencing and to work on solutions that correspond to their own realities (rural and urban mix).

The expertise of the trainers will be enhanced by the participation of citizens, builders, but above all, people committed to promoting citizen participation and maintaining the living environments of http://xn--an-cjas.es/ »

Montréal - Saint-Laurent

It is a great pleasure for us to present to you today a second committed environment of the new version of interforums which will take place from fall 2024: Les Demeures Sainte-Croix Inc ! “Demeures Sainte-Croix is a consortium of three (3) social and community housing NPOs that has been working with seniors for over 35 years.

For three years, we have developed external services aimed at the entire senior population of the Saint-Laurent borough. Over the years, we have set up various committees allowing seniors to express their opinions on improving living environments.

Being associated with the HABITATS Movement interforums seems to us to be a valuable avenue for supporting seniors in identifying needs and creative solutions, but also in understanding the various means of financing and implementation.

What a winning formula: Groups for creating local initiatives by and for seniors!” - Ginette Lavigne, General Director

Estrie - Granby

Since 2008, the City of Granby has played a pioneering role in Quebec by developing and implementing a Municipal Policy for Seniors.

Its purpose is to ensure the full development of people aged 65 and over in our community. In 2023, a 3rd updated edition was adopted.

As those responsible for senior issues, both at the administrative and political levels, we found it appropriate to offer a place for exchanges and discussions by becoming a

“Engaged Environment” and hosting an Interforum in our community.

the Generations and Pre-Ages Quarter.

Vision

The aging of society concerns us all: at home, at work, everywhere around us. We firmly believe that this is an opportunity to rethink the way we live, act and interact between generations.

Bas du Fleuve - Rimouski

CMētis is a non-profit organization with a high impact on social transformation, integrating expertise in design, construction and ecological real estate development. It provides communities with resources enabling a social design of their territories according to the principles of inclusion, diversity and socio-environmental justice.

Since our beginnings, we have recognized the importance of creating living spaces that promote the well-being and development of seniors. Working in Eastern Quebec, one of the oldest territories in Quebec with more than one in four people aged 65 and over, it is important for cmētis to implement projects designed to meet the reality of this population group. We believe that the social inclusion of seniors through participatory processes is part of the solution to aging well and living together and to better reflect on how we want to live our old age.

Laurentides - Sainte-Adèle

Économie sociale Laurentides (ÉSL) is a solidarity cooperative founded almost 20 years ago, which is entirely dedicated to the development of the social economy in the Laurentians. Our mission is to support the development of social economy enterprises in the Laurentians by participating in the creation of favorable conditions for this entrepreneurial model.

Our 4 main roles are: 1. Strengthening social economy enterprises, 2. Supporting the emergence of the social economy, 3. Promoting the social economy, its principles and its benefits, 4. Deploying a strong support ecosystem.

We are a team of 6 people, Amélie Girard, Sarah St-Denis, Jacynthe Duval, Alexandre Fournier, Olivier Lamanque and Cécile Flamant.

In a context where the aging of the population gives rise to growing and varied needs, it is crucial to stimulate a community of project leaders capable of responding to these challenges in an innovative and effective manner. By promoting the creation of strong links and the alignment between local approaches, we can strengthen the effectiveness of the initiatives implemented. This approach not only supports emerging projects, but also ensures that they are aligned with the real needs of older people, while facilitating the referencing and support necessary for their success.
